About
Todd and I were married August 30, 2003 at our acreage in Sherwood Park, in our yard with our horses and other animals. Todd's life revolved around dirt bikes; Sheila's around her horses, cats and dogs. Todd's love of dirt bikes still exists but has realized there is something very rewarding in caring for animals. Todd found love in a horse he named Hope. He realized the financial commitment after her near death experience. Thanks to West Wind Veterinary and six months of nursing, Hope is here with us now and queen of Royal Farms. She is very much loved by Todd.
I, Sheila, have been riding and loving horses since I was in diapers. My life is full of memories of special horses. My first love was Smokey, then Shayna came along, followed by Flag, April, Prince, Beauty, Monty, Lady and Hope. Painful memories of the loss of Smokey, Shayna, and April support the need for places to house, train, and retire horses properly. After seeing past negligence from horse owners/caregivers impact the welfare of our horses, we were motivated to set up a place of our own.
We are both hard workers - myself a pharmacist, and Todd a tractor salesman, working out of Royal Farms. Our successful jobs pay for the superior care of the horses in this farm that we call "paradise." We have many different breeds here and they are all treated as our own. Todd enjoys Western Pleasure and I pursue dressage and jumping. We will be hosting clinics and will allow haul-ins. We take a lot of pride in having a nice facility with excellent nutrition and large turnout. As busy as our lives can be, our place's priority will always be about the horses.
Sincerely, Sheila and Todd
